Comments Two Daffodils

Here is a small panel ” Two Daffodils ”  as I like to post an image rather than just writing a few paragraphs. Daffodils always seem to lift the spirits .

This site is about stained glass in general, but in particular about American art glass and the pieces I create with this medium. Comments are invited that are relevant to the work. I have had quite a few comments so far ( mostly spam ) which I have to delete and during this process I have inadvertently deleted some comments which I had allowed. This was totally unintentional and I would like to send my sincerest apologies to those who contributed these.

Deep Red Tulips

Deep Red Tulips

An exhibition piece depicting a field of tulips.

This piece of stained glass is purely imaginative. The possibility of finding a field of tulips growing in Ireland during mid January is pretty slim.

David worked with straight lines when designing the border, “I don’t normally do straight lines, but it sort of works here”.

Dimensions including the frame : width 375cm x height 1060cm

Daffodils Framed Panel

An exhibition piece.

“I always wanted to design a daffodil stained glass window”. David derives inspiration from out and about around our home in Slade, Co. Wexford.

Many photographs were taken and elements of each one became the design for this piece.

A lot of work went into this piece, the colours are vibrant together and the whole piece really reminds us of spring.

Dimensions including the frame : width 375cm x height 1060cm
The full size pattern for this panel which includes options for a rectangular or gothic shape at the top is available now in the Pattern Store http://www.kennedyoriginalstainedglass.com/?post_type=sd_product&p=2367&preview=true

Daisies Stained Glass Panel

Daisies Stained Glass Panel

An exhibition piece. David drew inspiration for this piece from the colours and textures in the stained glass.

The design was kept fairly simple, all handmade Youghiogheny Art Glass sourced in Pennsylvania used throughout this piece.

Red Poppies

This exhibition piece begins the story of Kennedy Original Stained Glass.
As with many of our pieces, David derives inspiration from the flowers growing in our garden.
We salvaged and restored some old pitch pine gothic frames and added a heavy oak base.

This is a stained glass panel made with Uroboros art glass using the copper foil method of construction. It is a copy of a mosaic panel entitled ” Two Sulpher Crested Cockatoos ” by Tiffany Studios New York, attributed to the artist ” Joseph Briggs “.The original panel is housed in the ” Haworth Gallery” in the U.K. which holds the largest collection of Tiffany Glass outside the U.S.A. https://www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/shop-at-the-haworth/ I never normally do copies but I always loved the original so I have put my own take on it so to speak, panel size is 36 inches x 26 inches.
